The cast and crew of Guardians of the Galaxy have penned a letter urging Disney to rehire James Gunn and shame on them. Did we learn nothing from the whole #Metoo movement people? “Sure Harvey Weinstein forced himself onto a lot of women, but he makes good movies!”

I understand that a tweet is not an act. James Gunn did not perform these acts; they’re just words. But, words are a portal into someone’s heart. If this is not true, then why is a person vilified for using one racist slur? If someone says the ‘n’ word, that’s it; their career is over because they are viewed as an utterly heinous person with nothing good about them at all. Words are a window into a person’s mindset and for James Gunn, something ain’t right here. Let’s ignore his rapes joke for now, and simply look at three tweets:

“I’m doing a big Hollywood film adaptation of The Giving Tree with a happy ending – the tree grows back and gives the kid a blowjob.”

Huh? Kids and oral sex, this is a bit weird.

 “The Expendables was so manly I fucked the s**t out of the little pussy boy next to me!”

Joking about molesting a young boy. Now I have a black sense of humor, but I don’t find this funny.

“I like it when little boys touch me in my silly place. Shhh!”

Alright. Once is happenstance, twice a coincidence, but three times a pattern. Something is off here.

If you were sitting around with your mates and one blurted out he likes little boys to touch him, surely the room would go quiet, a line would be crossed, the friendship would end, and parents of children associated with this bloke would be contacted and warned. Hell, one of your mates might even belt him one in the mouth for good measure. So the idea that James Gunn can keep saying stuff like this and be rehired is just asking for trouble. Like when Mike Tyson was found guilty of rape and members of the public said he should be allowed to keep fighting and pay off his victims. No, no, and no. Actions have consequences and this guy should not be rewarded for promoting pedophilia.

I’m shocked it took this long to realize he wasn’t quite right, there were signs a plenty. Take this picture as exhibit A – when you choose to leave the house looking like Cameron Diaz in ‘There’s Something About Mary’, we should have all known something was up.
